Neo-Nazis fund anti-copyright movement

But there seems to be something about Pirate Bay that no one wants you to read: its debt to one of the most notorious fascists in Europe.

Carl Lundström was linked to a gang of skinheads that attacked Latin American tourists in Stockholm in the mid-1980s. Over the years, Lundström has switched his support from Keep Sweden Swedish to the far-right headbangers party New Democracy – but was thrown out for being too right wing. He’s currently bankrolling 100 candidates for the Swedish equivalent of the BNP.

Lundström is alleged to own 40 per cent of The Pirate Bay – the largest share – and gave it servers and bandwidth to get going. As one of the four defendants, been a regular attendee in court.

Interesting to see the far-right appear on this issue, but the demise of big media would serve their agenda.

Ron Paul, far-right activist

But, whoever actually wrote them, the newsletters I saw all had one thing in common: They were published under a banner containing Paul’s name, and the articles (except for one special edition of a newsletter that contained the byline of another writer) seem designed to create the impression that they were written by him–and reflected his views. What they reveal are decades worth of obsession with conspiracies, sympathy for the right-wing militia movement, and deeply held bigotry against blacks, Jews, and gays. In short, they suggest that Ron Paul is not the plain-speaking antiwar activist his supporters believe they are backing–but rather a member in good standing of some of the oldest and ugliest traditions in American politics.

To understand Paul’s philosophy, the best place to start is probably the Ludwig von Mises Institute, a libertarian think tank based in Auburn, Alabama. The institute is named for a libertarian Austrian economist, but it was founded by a man named Lew Rockwell, who also served as Paul’s congressional chief of staff from 1978 to 1982.

Paul’s alliance with neo-Confederates helps explain the views his newsletters have long espoused on race. Take, for instance, a special issue of the Ron Paul Political Report, published in June 1992, dedicated to explaining the Los Angeles riots of that year. “Order was only restored in L.A. when it came time for the blacks to pick up their welfare checks three days after rioting began,” read one typical passage. According to the newsletter, the looting was a natural byproduct of government indulging the black community with “‘civil rights,’ quotas, mandated hiring preferences, set-asides for government contracts, gerrymandered voting districts, black bureaucracies, black mayors, black curricula in schools, black tv shows, black tv anchors, hate crime laws, and public humiliation for anyone who dares question the black agenda.” It also denounced “the media” for believing that “America’s number one need is an unlimited white checking account for underclass blacks.” To be fair, the newsletter did praise Asian merchants in Los Angeles, but only because they had the gumption to resist political correctness and fight back. Koreans were “the only people to act like real Americans,” it explained, “mainly because they have not yet been assimilated into our rotten liberal culture, which admonishes whites faced by raging blacks to lie back and think of England.”

The New Republic

This magazine normally does its research. Ron Paul remains popular because he encourages a rejection of the last 50 years of American politics in other ways, but possibly also rejection of multiculturalism.

Know your Fourth Amendment rights

Being familiar with your own rights as a citizen of a state should be at the very core of your personal education.

A state does not wish its people to know their rights, as it is much easier to get away with impunity and have absolute power when the citizens are ignorant of their rights.

The public education system in the United States, of which I have experience with the Texas variant, briefly touches on the Constitution and the Bill of Rights of the United States of America. The very documents of which our entire Legal and Governmental structure are founded on deserve no more than a glance if you take it from the state run education system.

Since so many people fail to learn about those documents on their own, it has become easy for rights to be violated by those in power. The violation of the Fourth Amendment of the Bill of Rights of the Constitution of the United States is one that everyone can help to put a stop to.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

GPO

The Fourth Amendment specifies that any warrant must be judicially sanctioned for a search or an arrest. Warrants must be supported by probable cause with a limited scope specified by information given to a judge, normally through a law enforcement officer.

The Fourth Amendment only applies to government entities such as law enforcement and government agents. It does not guarantee a right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizure conducted by private citizens or organizations. This is why you cannot board an air craft without being searched and why being searched by your employer is legal.

One of the places that we can fight unreasonable searches is the court house.

Recently I received a jury summons. I have no problem with sitting in on jury duty and fulfilling the role of a defunct legal system. I do however have issue with my person being searched without reason. Since the court system falls under government jurisdiction, without a warrant they have no rights to search you.

When I arrived at the metal detectors I informed that Sheriff that I would not consent to be searched based upon my Fourth Amendment right to do so. He promptly informed me that if I did not proceed I would be held in contempt of court. I inquired if he could provide documentation signed by the court to that effect. He left his station and went to talk to a nearby official.

I do not know the conversation that was had, but I can guess it went something to the effect of the official telling the Sheriff that he has no right to search me and to release me. Upon returning the Sheriff inquired if I needed a note for work and dismissed me.

There were three possible outcomes in this situation. The first being he returns with a document signed by the court stating that I would be required to be searched. If this were the case I would have well been within my rights to hire a lawyer to defend myself against a Bill of Rights violation. The second outcome would have been to allow me to enter without being searched and provide an escort (which I inquired about them doing and was turned down). They would not endorse this due to the high visibility of the act. Other jurors would undoubtedly inquire as to why I had a police escort with me throughout the day. The court gets away with a majority of its fallacies due to uninformed participants.

The third outcome was what I expected and that was a release of obligation to jury duty. This was my latest experience with the jury system and armed with knowledge of the law I not only educated myself but also a rather irritated Sheriff.

This event affirmed a truth in my mind: we must not let misguided government fear of the unknown to infringe on our rights at citizens. Any system dependent on the ignorance of those involved is inherently flawed and should be restructured, or it will facilitate and thus encourage tyranny.

The new far right: free nationalists

The neo-Nazis weren’t bumbling skinheads, Kindler said. They were autonome Nationalisten or free nationalists – a radical, political segment of the far-right scene in Germany who are growing in number and, experts fear, poised to create a new wave of neo-Nazi violence.

These disparate events, according to observers, are explained by upheavals in the far-right scene caused by the breakdown of old alliances and the emergence of new, aggressive splinter groups.

”It’s a trend,” said Matthias Adrian, a former skinhead who now helps extremists quit the scene. ”We’ve noticed more threats against those getting out and attacks on democratic activists by right-wing extremists. The atmosphere has changed and it is now more aggressive. This is the tip of the iceberg.”

”It’s not a coincidence,” said Deidre Berger, director of the AJC in Berlin. ”There’s a trend towards very loosely organised cells which use modern means of communication and are therefore harder to keep track of. It also means they can work across borders so you have more communication between these cell-like structures in different countries in Europe.”

“The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Germany’s domestic intelligence agency charged with watching extremists, is naturally cautious about drawing conclusions from the latest data and incidents such as the rest stop attack, but an official from the agency admitted the government was worried by the growth of the skinheads, neo-Nazis and other far-right extremists seemingly operating independently.

They are a new phenomenon in the scene and they are more interested in confrontation,” he told The Local. “At demonstrations, you notice they are less willing to take the orders of the police and more willing to fight the left-wing counterdemonstrators. Even most of the right-wing scene says they are too aggressive.”

The Local

Interesting development: the far-right has gained more popular support, which is causing its infrastructure to collapse, and it’s now getting granular. This may benefit far-right parties who want to distance themselves from the violence while allowing the violent to suppress their political enemies.

Skinheads and other extremists are a small but growing group in Switzerland, where researchers say one in three people is xenophobic and one in five anti-Semitic.

But the far right remains fractured and weak, with just 1,200 active members, according to the national research programme findings.

Rightwing extremism has changed throughout the years in Switzerland from a limited underground movement at the end of the Second World War into a larger subculture today, according to Damir Skenderovic, author of one of the 13 studies.

Swiss Info

If one in three people is anti-multicultural (“xenophobic”) then these Nationalists really are doing a poor job if they have only 1200 members. It’s my suspicion that the anti-Semitism statistic is dubious, because some who are anti-Israel/Zionist become anti-Semitic, even though Zionism is Nationalism and so to oppose it is anti-Nationalist. However, anti-immigrant/anti-multicultural sentiment is widespread through Europe, but I think the far right is getting weaker than this article describes because they are unable to popularize themselves through this. Possibly they should consider becoming far-left Nationalists in order to attract the mostly leftist voters.

On the day after Obama’s historic election, more than 2,000 people joined Don Black’s Web site Stormfront.org, a remarkable increase from the approximately 80 new members a day he was getting, Black said. His Web site, which was started in 1995, is one of the oldest and largest hate group sites. The site received so many hits that it crashed after election results were announced. The site boasts 110,000 registered members today, Black said.

“People who had been a little more complacent and kind of upset became more motivated to do something,” said Black, who also said he joined his first hate group at age 15.

Obama serves as a “visual aid” that is helping respark a sense of purpose in current supporters and lure new members, said neo-Nazi David Duke, the former Klan leader who was elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives in the 1980s. Duke said he fears “the white European-American” heritage will soon be destroyed. He added that his Web site sees around 40,000 unique visitors a day, up from 15,000 a day before Obama won the election.

CNN

I’m inclined to take this less seriously than they do. People joining stuff on the internet rarely translates into political activity. Being volunteers, they are compelled to do nothing but show up to the website and complain. You can see this on all ends of the political spectrum, from anarchist websites to far right ones.

However, unlike all the ineffective Official(tm) far-right activity, this is nationalism on a practical level. An east coast community decides it wants to stay European-American, and enacts law to make it so.

One of the country’s fastest-growing counties for Hispanic growth, Prince William’s overall population more than doubled between 1980 and 2006, and its immigrant population exploded to more than 14 times its size in 1980, the Brookings study said. Jobs and housing lured immigrants and native-born newcomers to the Virginia county.

The study found that as many Hispanics and other minorities settled in older neighborhoods, some longtime Prince William residents felt the nature of their community change.

The county became one of a few in the Washington region that has cracked down on illegal immigration in recent years. In Virginia’s Loudoun County and Maryland’s Frederick County, law enforcement authorities also are trained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to enforce federal immigration law.

Stewart [Corey Stewart, chairman of the Prince William County Board of Supervisors] said officials don’t intend to re-evaluate the county policy.

“Through a lot of painful discussion, we have come up with a policy that the vast majority of the community is happy with and is effective,” he said.

Immigrant rights groups have said that the policy, which drew national attention, has created strife between Hispanic immigrants and police and spurred an exodus of Hispanics.

[A] study [by the Brookings Institution] said that the county’s ability to weather the financial crisis will depend on its success in attracting new homeowners and retaining businesses.

WTOP

Of course, they’re refuted both reasons: the community is financially stable, so can’t be bought out, and it’s unconcerned with people who are not constituents there. An interesting development in the far-right’s transition to the mainstream. In due course, the far-right is likely to disappear, and be replaced with more localized community activism and Ron Paul libertarian rightism as we see here.

There are skinheads in Syria

Christopher Hitchens is currently in Beirut sponsored by the same group that owns NOW Lebanon. He got in a few nights ago and surprisingly went out drinking. On his way out of the bar he saw an SSNP poster and wrote on it ‘F— the SSNP.’ There just happened to be some SSNP thugs near by–most likely asking people for their ID, and most likely to no avail–and saw him write on the poster and kicked his ass. He is still walking with a limp.

Three of our “scoop” brigade–Jonathan Foreman, Michael Totten and Christopher Hitchens–got involved in a street brawl with some thugs of a Syria-loving skinhead party called the SNPN after Hitchens rather gallantly insulted their swastika flag. On our way to a meeting with Minister of State Nissib Lahoud, Hitchens showed me the gashed knuckles and bruises suffered during the punch up. The attackers had apparently come out of nowhere on posh Hamda Street, where they had gone to buy shoes. “I was on the ground,” Hitchens said, “and getting it in the head.”

Please submit your abstract via the the electronic submission system to the appropriate panel(s).

ECPR

It will be interesting to see what they come up with.

It will either be psychological fluff explaining away the problem, or reveal an insight into Europe’s crumbling identity as the root of its leadership problems.

Review of James Kalb’s book, “The Tyranny of Liberalism”

Review by Felipe Serra

“This is a book about the tyranny of Liberalism: what it is, how it comes about, what its implications are, and what to do about it.”

Like its title implies, “The Tyranny of Liberalism” points us toward the idea that Liberalism – the ideology that currently dominates mainstream Western politics and that aims towards the end all human conflict through the equal satisfaction of desires – unavoidably tends towards authoritarianism and excessive intervention in all echelons of society. This as a result of the social chaos that comes with the denying of the cultural, social and individual aspects that give human life its ultimate meaning, in an attempt to have a predictable and controlled society.

The book is divided into two parts. The first one, adequately titled “Decline and Fall”, presents a definition of Liberalism, naming its fundamental principles and the results of Advanced Liberalism – the current form of the liberal ideology as espoused by the USA and the European Union -  and its institutions in public life. Kalb gets his main point across by indicating that Liberalism as an ideology is flawed at birth because it is mostly based on pure theory, and therefore denies human nature in an effort to have the most perfectly manageable society possible. Its most basic principles, namely the pursuit of “equal freedom” and “individual satisfaction” as ultimate standards for society are attacked relentlessly. The writer points out that these basic flaws unavoidably turn Liberalism into Advanced Liberalism, which is as powerful and branched out in all aspects of public and private life (thanks, in part, to the mass media) as it is intrusive and totalitarian in nature. The result of it can only be societal disruption, as privacy becomes a commodity, and chaos, as people lose its most basic freedoms with a State contantly enforcing new values on them.

The second part, “Up from Tyranny”, is where the real juice of the book is in my opinion, as it begins providing different alternatives to Liberalism, discarding those that do not really solve the problem (current political tendencies such as Neo-conservatism), returning to the basics (what has Liberalism taking away from us, and how can we recover it?) and then pointing out that, to replace Liberalism, we need to overcome it by looking at the past in order to retrieve the traditional aspects of life that defined and kept Western society together for centuries before the advent of Liberalism, both on a small (religion, marriage, family, home education, community work, friendship) and large scale (local government resulting in less bureaucracy, capable leadership, centralized spiritual authorities). Kalb indicates that these values permitted social harmony for most of Western history and can do so again once Advanced Liberalism collapses. He then concludes the book with a handful of tips that people can use for the defense of these aspects that in our current era are deemed, thanks to the propagandistic efforts of liberal entities, as idiotic at best, or criminal at worse.

The writer dedicates several pages to pointing the importance of these informal traditions as means that connects each of us to our own nature and to our neighbours. He also outlines the importance of religion as an unifying principle that points us towards the things that transcend our own lives and connects each of us to the whole of human society, and dedicates a fair amount of paragraphs to his thesis that the Roman Catholic Church would be the most suitable spiritual organization to provide that unity in a post-modern world.

While it may seem at first that this book is aimed towards people that are already quite aware of the failure that is our current society, and therefore are vehement disagreers, this is not quite so. The writer’s intention, as exposed by himself, is actually to get to both camps: those that are against Modern Society, and those that are mostly in favour, but are perceptive enough to realize its failure and open minded enough to be receptive towards the alternatives presented here.

Most of all, “The Tyranny of Liberalism” is an excellent introduction for those who are recently escaping the so called “modern mentality” promoted by the mass media, modern education and the vast majority of people. In order to avoid the ensuing confusion that such a change in life generates, this book can be of great help as it provides a general perspective of our current situation, and a direct course of action considering the advantages of our era, which, amongst other things, would help the reader avoid the usual pitfalls that confused dissidents sometimes adopt. Additionally, Kalb’s easy conversational style makes all of its concepts easy to grasp at once without going too deep in more complex philosophical issues that may be taxing on newbies. This book would certainly help to gain a central perspective on all the things wrong with current Western thought, in a time when most people fight over meaningless details.

In a world where Liberalism is seen as the rational result of the progress of history and that has virtually no opposition in the mainstream, provoking confusion amongst those who see that things are wrong with society at large, this book can be seen as a light in the end of a tunnel. A great introductory text to the disease of Modern Civilization.

Interview with National Anarchist, Troy Southgate

Troy Southgate

You have been involved in and helped to form several political groups such as: the National Front, International Third Position, English Nationalist Movement, National Revolutionary Faction and and the New Right. Did you become dissatisfied with where various of these groups were going, or were your own views evolving into new directions?

Both, actually. The National Front (NF) was already evolving into a revolutionary organisation when I joined it in 1984-5, but due to personality issues it became fragmented in the Autumn of 1989 and myself and a few others – among them Derek Holland, Nick Griffin, Roberto Fiore and Colin Todd – left to form the International Third Position (ITP). The NF, meanwhile, changed its name to Third Way in March 1990 and sadly exchanged its earlier revolutionary nationalist impetus and support for Khomeini’s Iran and Qathafi’s Libya for a self-proclaimed ‘radicalism of the centre’. The ITP also changed, however, and by September 1992 I left to form the English Nationalist Movement (ENM) because several ITP figures such as Roberto Fiore and Derek Holland were trying to promote a form of clerico-fascism. I was also a Traditional Catholic at that time, but was not prepared to sacrifice my own revolutionary ideology for a backward-looking dependence on the likes of Mussolini, Petain and Franco.

Most people joined us in the new ENM venture and the ITP became irrelevant and ineffectual in the British Isles from that moment on. The ENM, I felt, both reflected and reclaimed the uncompromising principles that we had developed in the NF during the mid-to late-1980s. Apart from the name itself, the group was also distinctly English in terms of advancing the ideas of men such as William Cobbett, Robert Blatchford, Robert Owen and William Morris. However, we eventually changed the ENM into the National Revolutionary Faction (NRF) because we were being closely monitored by Special Branch and MI5 and wanted a security-conscious movement based on an underground cell structure. For this purpose we used an organisational manual that had been developed by Hamas. This, combined with our entryist strategy of infiltrating other groups and organisations, worked very effectively indeed.

At the beginning of the 1990s we became aware of Richard Hunt’s ‘Alternative Green’ magazine and that began to influence the way we continued to evolve during that crucial and fomative decade. Hunt had been the founder of Green Anarchist, but eventually resigned once his views on patriarchy began to conflict with the interests of other members. The NRF was shelved when we finally embraced Anarchism ourselves, forming a new current – rather than a party or movement – known as the National-Anarchists. The New Right soon followed, in January 2005, when we saw the need for two groups. The former being political and active, and the latter metapolitical and intellectual.

Would you describe yourself as a “White nationalist” as such? If so,or if not, why is that?

I am no longer a nationalist because I do not recognise the boundaries of the existing nation-states. The nation is always defined by the ruling class, too, so we end up with a contrived entity which does not reflect the ethnicity of those who happened to form the nation in the first place. England, for example, has changed so drastically over the last 50 years or
so that it cannot seriously be regarded as the nation that it was half a century ago. If you change the demographic identity of a nation’s people, therefore, the nation becomes a total nonsense. As far as we are concerned, a nation is constituted by blood, not wholly by territory and certainly not by a governmental administration (state). But neither do I describe myself as ‘white’. This term is actually very unscientific, because whilst it refers to skin colour (phenotype) it does not take into consideration the underlying genetic factors. Race, as Baker tells us, is chiefly based on skeletal considerations. Black Ethiopians, for example, are completely different to other Blacks in Africa and make up part of the racial category known as Europid. So being ‘white’ is really only part of the story. Another danger with ‘white’ nationalism is that it tends to centralise huge sub-racial and tribal swathes that actually have their own distinct cultural and behavioural attributes. Many Americans use the term to identify themselves with other ‘whites’, but it really is a fairly spurious form of terminology given the things that I’ve just mentioned.

Is it likely, do you feel, that the UK will, in the next few decades, lose territory to Islam (with government collusion in this) and that there will be an armed struggle during this process?

Yes, I do believe that racial conflict is inevitable in many parts of the country. But I don’t believe the government will help the Muslims in any way. In fact the only type of Islam that the government here respects or favours is the watered-down, liberal version such as that fronted by the Muslim Council of Britain. The British Establishment does not tolerate
religious ‘extremism’ of any kind, so has its own court imams, rabbis and priests. These are often ecumenicalist and have a strong multi-faith agenda that concords with the objectives of the existing multi-cultural society that we live in. But I do believe that as the British State weakens, ‘fundamentalist’ Muslims themselves will seize power in certain areas. The State believes that it can still eradicate traditional Islamic communities by indoctrinating their children with Americanised values, but its running out of time. Personally, my view is that Islamic groups and communities will be assisted by the worsening economic situation. They already have their own banking, trading and educational structures.

To what extent do you feel that the White birth rate (standing on average at one child per woman, thus halving each generation) is a key problem?

It’s a problem if people of Indo-European stock with to have an influence in the nations in which they presently reside, but in the long term I believe that ‘whites’ will have to leave the multi-racial cities and towns of Europe and North America and set up new areas elsewhere. But I don’t usually make an issue of bemoaning the declining population levels, thereare far too many people in the world today as it is and I would like to see a drastic fall everywhere.

Is it too late now to up the birth rate enough to avoid civil war? Or do you tend to think that there will be no major clash and that the White British (and Europeans generally) will simply fizzle out slowly if our people do not unite to protect their survival?

I think there will be clashes between the immigrant communities and those who – for a variety of reasons – have remained in the same area as these relative newcomers. Some people are already becoming absorbed and have completely lost their identity altoegether. But, on the whole, I believe that economic decline will lead to a huge increase in social problems and that large numbers of Europeans will move away from these areas as a direct result of that. I once knew someone who constantly praised a young woman for being the last remaining English resident in her street, the rest were Pakistani and despite them breaking her windows on a regular basis she refused to leave. But I don’t consider that to be admirable at all, it’s pure stupidity and she – like many other people – need to start facing reality by reading the writing on the wall and forming new communities elsewhere. Europe in her present form is finished, but on a more positive note our people have migrated before and must do so again. Adapt and survive.

Do you feel that the disintegration of families as stable units (loss of family values) has a destructive effect on society?

Families lie at the bedrock of any community, but I don’t take the bourgeois view that everything must be based upon family values. Communities begin with the individual and then extend to the family, the tribe and, ultimately, the nation. But there is still a place for the outsider, so it’s not all about families. Communities need families, yes, but they are not the be-all-and-end-all of our existence. Some people are monogamists, others are polygamists. Some will be celibate, others will be downright ‘anti-social’. That’s all part of being human.

Would you say that it’s advantageous for a nation to have more than one ethno-nationalist movement, so long as this does not mean competing for votes that could be required for the electoral victory of the most successful of these parties? Cooperation rather than rivalry?

I don’t agree with voting, so that doesn’t really apply to the National-Anarchist worldview. We want to reach the stage where people are completely disillusioned with politicians and the charade of party politics. Any cooperation would involve uniting against the System itself.

What is your view on the Green Party, in terms of how genuine or phony their stance is on the environment?

I think it’s members have a genuine concern for the environment, but they refuse to discuss the effects of immigration. Large numbers of people, regardless of what colour they happen to be, are extremely destructive for the natural environment and surely it follows that opposition to immigration should be a logical part of their programme? But again, as a revolutionary I don’t support any party or movement that participates in the parliamentary system.

Your enthusiasm for Julius Evola seems somewhat at odds with your anarchist ideas. Given that Evola advocated caste systems based on natural hierarchies, how do you reconcile Evola’s ideas with an anarchistic view?

We are not ‘anarchists’ in the sense that the term is usually understood. There is also an ‘anarchism of the Right’ that has its roots among people like Ernst Junger and Gustav Landauer. Friedrich Nietzsche, too, in my opinion , was also an important anarchist thinker and his views on the corrupting nature of morality and the role of the free-spirited individual
are very important. But Evola, too, realised that the nihilist – for example – has a very crucial role to play in the greater scheme of things. Following Nietzsche, the Italian thinker appreciated that a sterile, bourgeois society must be swept away by a new, dynamic force that will help to regenerate and replenish the society in general. This is the pendulum of Ancient Greek civilisation that swung between the poles of the Apollonian and the Dionysian. Mikhail Bakunin tells us that ‘destruction is also a creative urge’, so again, we can see the positive role that anarchy can have in the period leading up to a new Golden Age (Satya Yuga). Out with the old and in with the new. The caste system of the traditional society, which Evola discussed at some length, is not at odds with the kind of organic, tribal communities that National-Anarchists wish to establish. But our communities will be voluntary, rather than enforced.

To what extent do you feel politics by itself is sufficient to inspire a people to victory against strong religiously driven forces arrayed against them?

I’m not exactly sure what you mean by ’strong religious forces’, but I believe that political factors are best assisted by cultural factors. In Nazi Germany, for example, the reason National-Socialism became so immensely popular is a result of the tidal wave of culture that had been growing since the 1880s. The Nazis knew how to tap a vein, so to speak, and this is why they adopted the hiking fraternities, mannerbunds, old soldiers’ clubs, ecological societies, occult groups and various other cultural facets for themselves. In many ways, of course, they jumped on the bandwagon. So I don’t think that politics ever succeed on their own, it’s necessary to work on all levels: music, film, theatre, economics, schools and universities. The key, too, is to establish alternative revolutionary structures that will eventually come to replace the infrastructure of the State itself. I am a strong believer in the power of counter-culture and the effect it can have on politics.

Would you agree that, while ethno-nationalist politics can gather disaffected masses, there is a need for a strong common ideology encapsulating common identity and based on a positive vision of something to create, rather than merely a backlash against all that is angering people?

Again, we must work on various levels. As the ‘destructive’ nihilists are helping to eradicate the last vestiges of Western civilisation (‘That which is falling must be pushed’ – Nietzsche), so then will the great cultural innovators begin to create an atmosphere in which the ideas and spirit of the future can grow and flourish. As a musician who is also political, I have seen for myself how these ideas can take shape within the cultural sphere and gradually begin to attract like-minded people with similar political views. Eventually, the key is to get everyone moving in the same direction. I think that’s happening already in parts of the musical underground that includes bands of the ‘Industrial’, ‘Gothic’ and ‘Neofolk’ genres. Things are beginning to merge, very carefully, and these are the areas where you will find some of the exciting revolutionary initiatives that will – I hope – serve as the cultural impetus that eventually assumes a more political and intellectual form. This explains the increasing interest in figures such as Evola, Guenon, Codreanu, Junger and Mishima, all of whom are being promoted extensively through a whole range of music projects, labels and concept albums. We may be living in very depressing times, but there is a still a great deal that we can be optimistic about.

More on the possible breakup of the USA

For a decade, Russian academic Igor Panarin has been predicting the U.S. will fall apart in 2010. For most of that time, he admits, few took his argument — that an economic and moral collapse will trigger a civil war and the eventual breakup of the U.S. — very seriously.

Mr. Panarin posits, in brief, that mass immigration, economic decline, and moral degradation will trigger a civil war next fall and the collapse of the dollar. Around the end of June 2010, or early July, he says, the U.S. will break into six pieces — with Alaska reverting to Russian control.

The professor says he began his career in the KGB in 1976. In post-Soviet Russia, he got a doctorate in political science, studied U.S. economics, and worked for FAPSI, then the Russian equivalent of the U.S. National Security Agency.

He cites French political scientist Emmanuel Todd. Mr. Todd is famous for having rightly forecast the demise of the Soviet Union — 15 years beforehand. “When he forecast the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1976, people laughed at him,” says Prof. Panarin.

Russian View of Breakup of the USA

WSJ

We have covered the potential secession of US states before, but never the idea that the USA would break up. Panarin is interesting because he offers us both right-wing and left wing ideas; immigration and moral corruption stand beside economic collapse and tyrannical governments in his schema.

Texas Nationalists declare USA defunct

“Texas will again lift its head and stand among the nations. It ought to do so, for no country upon the globe can compare with it in natural advantages.” – Sam Houston

The man who led Texas to victory in its war of independence from Mexico knew that Texas was special. He knew that Texas was a land of promise, hope and opportunity. He also knew that Texas was a place where freedom could be maintained and preserved for future generations.

Today we find ourselves at a crossroads. Down one path we find the erosion of our freedom, our economy and the very fabric of our society. Down this path we are still tethered to the United States. Down the other path we find the legacy of our forebears. It’s a legacy of freedom, justice, security and hope. It’s a legacy of independence.

We ask you to visit our site and join with us as Sam Houston’s prophetic words are coming to pass. Texas will stand as a nation among nations again. And it’s happening now. Come be a witness to history.

Come witness the rebirth of Texas independence.

Very interesting statement, based on an old post-French Revolution theme: there’s more freedom this way.

As a skeptical observer of politics, I think that terms like “freedom” and “independence” need careful defining, and that the Texas Nationalists should be very careful about offering another version of what people already claim they have.

As things spiral out of control for downward-moving nations, which the USA has been — independent of the current economic crisis — as its population gets more and more divided from consensus, it’s not wise to offer another divisive philosophy.

Freedom, after all, means independence from collectivity, but in bad times, people want functional collectivity instead. It will be interesting to see how the Texas Nationalists target this issue.
